My First Attempt at Photographing a Wedding

So, I took another break from the Capture Your 365 photo challenge this past week because I was asked to take pictures at a wedding on Saturday. Yikes! I was not the main photographer, which was a relief!  My main job was to just capture some random images during the evening. By the time we left the wedding, I had taken over 400 pictures!

This morning, I finally had a chance to delete a bunch of photos down to about 126 pictures left to edit. Once I start the edit process, I may end up deleting a few more.

The setting for this wedding was beautiful, barn wedding in the late afternoon. So the lighting was amazing!! But I am still learning how to get the settings right for the right light conditions. I was using my 50mm f/1.8 lens which allowed me to not have to use my pop up flash. But I probably should have at times. I left the camera in Aperture Priority, however, at times the shutter speed was too slow. Oh well, lesson learned.

Would you like to see a couple of my favorites?

ISO 800, 50mm, f/4.0, 1/400 sec

ISO 800, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/2000 sec

ISO 800, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/100 sec

ISO 200, 50mm, f/16, 1/500 sec

ISO 800, 50mm, f/2.0, 1/640 sec

ISO 800, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/15 sec

This was a great experience for me! I think I captured a few 'keepers', but I am thankful that someone else was doing the main photography!

Now to make time to edit the other 100 photos...
